This event aimed at raising the citizens’ and civil society organizations’ (CSO) awareness on the different instruments available to communicate with the EU organizations and enforce their rights under EU law. It focused more particularly on the first translational instrument of participatory democracy in world history that was introduced through the Lisbon Treaty. The regulation for this European Citizen Initiative will enter into force in April 2012. Gov2u was one of the facilitators of the workshop in which citizens and CSO discussed the obstacles they perceived for the usage of these instruments and made suggestions to make them more accessible.
